Better steering
The Effigear gearboxes are installed at the bottom and in the center of the frame, which gives the bike a "healthier" behavior, and a better stability.
Indeed, this transmission allows to center the masses and to reduce the unsprung masses. The suspension works much more freely and makes the bike more responsive.
In DH or enduro mountain biking, this improves the efficiency of the rear suspension, which grips the ground better. This is a real asset in winding parts or with roots.
In addition, you can shift gears under full load or at a standstill. A gear preselection system will allow you to anticipate a climb or a crossing.

De plus, la pignnonerie est entièrement protégé par un carter en magnésium pour une solidité optimale.
Les éléments extérieurs habituels tels que les cassettes et les dérailleurs ne sont maintenant plus un souci dans les conditions VTT.
La boite est en alu 7020 T6, un aluminium très résistant et qui offre la possibilité d'être re-soudable, l'alu est donc réparable.

In addition, the gearbox is fully protected by a magnesium housing for optimal strength.
Exposed components such as cassettes and derailleurs are now no longer a concern in mountain bike conditions.
The housing is made of 7020 T6 aluminum, a very strong aluminum, which offers the possibility of being re-weldable.
Less maintenance
The Effigear gearbox is protected from intrusion and shock by a magnesium housing and its sprockets are permanently lubricated in an oil bath.
The use of a belt also makes it possible to dispense with the maintenance usually required for a chain and allows for washing with a water jet.
It does not require any particular maintenance except for an oil change per year.
Compared to a conventional derailleur, the total maintenance cost is seven times less than a conventional derailleur system.
Belt or Chain
The output shaft of the gearbox is located on the main pivot of the frame. Therefore, there is no variation in chain length. Therefore, there is no need for a chain tensioner. This design allows the integration of a chain or belt drive.
Belts are quiet and lighter than a chain. They require no maintenance and last longer.
A chain offers better performance. And it is easier to change in case of breakage. It's also a less expensive option.
If you don't fit the use of the belt, and remain convinced of the advantages of a traditional chain, you can of course opt for this one.
