The story begins in a garage in the Loire Valley at the foot of Pilat, a land of bicycles. Two enthusiasts, Guy Cavalerie and David Rouméas, launch the Cavalerie project. A story of passion, riding and innovation.
In 2002, Guy Cavalerie, founder of the brand, helps a friend to build his own DH. Incorporating a caster angle adjustment system. The first stone of 20 years of creation and technical innovation.
From 2003 to 2009, Guy Cavalerie set himself a new challenge: to build a gearbox for his downhill bike. After 7 years of development and prototyping, the Effigear 3-axis gearbox was born, which still equips Cavalerie bikes today.
2011 is the birth of the first two bikes of the brand. The Squirrel, a freeride mountain bike, and the iconic Falcon, a DH. Both bikes are equipped with gearboxes, the trademark of Cavalerie.
2013, the Cavalerie brand is registered and it's the beginning of the industrialization and marketing process of the first Cavalerie bikes. All the bikes are designed, manufactured and assembled in Pilat (42), by Guy Cavalerie and David Rouméas. They make it a point of honor to manufacture mountain bikes made in France and work with local actors.
2014, Cavalerie expands its range and launches into enduro with the presentation of the ANAKIN at the Roc d'Azur in Fréjus.
2014, Cavalerie releases the Anatrail, a derivative of the Anakin in 140mm of front to rear travel accompanied by a 29'' mount.
In 2020, David Rouméas and Vincent Lecornu join forces and take over the company in order to finalize the product and commercial development of the company. The company expanded and the Effigear and Cavalerie workshops moved to Maclas, at the foot of the most beautiful singles in the region.
RETURN OF THE JEDI - ANAKIN V2
2022 marks the renewal of the brand with the update of the Anakin. The bike is redesigned while keeping the heritage and identity of Cavalerie. The geometry and design are modernized and the bike's design takes a modular approach: a bike offered in three different setups to be effective on our favorite mountain terrains, for committed riding.
EBIKE CAVALERIE
To be presented at the Eurobike 2021 in Friedrichshafen. The Cavalerie e-bike, equipped with the Smart e-bike system, a motorization resulting from the Valeo x Effigear collaboration, will be presented in 2023.
CERTIFIED ORIGIN FRANCE GUARANTEED, A FIRST IN THE WORLD OF MOUNTAIN BIKING
The frame of the e-bike and the Anakin V2 are both certified "Origine France Garantie" by Afnor. A first in the French bicycle industry. A certification that crowns 10 years of made in France and efforts for Cavalerie.
